Alma is a liberal arts college for the study of Hebrew culture.
It also serves as a community center to foster the sense of
belonging to the Hebrew culture.

Alma seeks to redefine the scope and nature of Hebrew culture
by exploring the vast achievements of Jewish heritage in the context
of other cultures.
Hebrew is more than the language which has linked Jewish communities
throughout the ages. Hebrew is a culture that embraces religious texts and
traditions and reflects secular expressions of the human endeavour. Alma's
approach to Hebrew culture is interdisciplinary and integrative.

Alma's main objective is to make Hebrew culture accessible and relevant to
many people through a variety of means. Alma offers a wide range of
interdisciplinary study programs: for students seeking an academic degree
and for persons wishing to study for professional advancement or merely for
cultural enrichment.

Alma offers the following frameworks:
Academic Study Programs.
Outreach and Adult Education Programs that include evening classes, short
courses, summer seminars, weekend workshops on Jewish life-cycle and
special events.
Teacher Training Courses.

Alma Programs Embody Unique Features:
An Interdisciplinary Approach to cultural studies that blends the intimacy
of the Jewish Yeshiva with the freedom of the artistic world and academic
excellence.
The Ethos of Modern Zionism that emphasizes pluralism, encourages the
dialogue between those who define themselves as either secular or religious
persons, and that is sensitive to non-Jewish Israelis.
The Bet Midrash a traditional framework reinterpreted in the context of
modern academic institutions, consisting of text-based study in small
groups.
Tutorials to guide students in their reading and research and to develop
individual study programs.
