| This drinking fountain was built in 1455 by the Mameluke sultan el-Ashraf Igal, and was renovated by Sultan Qaytbay. Water used to reach the rahat from an aqueduct which ran through the Gate of the Chain, bringing water from Solomon's Pools. The rahat is decorated with an octagonal structure bearing a beautiful dome ornamented with floral reliefs. |
